pbxnsip Announces IP PBX Software Version for the Mac

Aug 22, 2008 – Andover, MA – pbxnsip, Inc., a leader in SIP-based IP PBX software for Microsoft Windows and Linux environments, today announced version 3.0 of their software is now available for Mac OS X Leopard. This new version of software fills a void for Mac-centric businesses that are usually forced to run their VoIP based phone systems on either Windows or Linux platforms. With this new version of pbxnsip software, Apple customers can now run their company phone systems on native Mac OS X platforms including Mac Pro, Mac mini, and iMac. Some of the features of the IP PBX for OS X include:

• Cell phone integration – office calls can be “forked” to your iPhone
• Support for popular IP Phones – including softphones written for the Mac
• Voice security support – voice encryption
• Multi Language support – for Auto Attendants, prompts, etc.
• Music on Hold - via multiple sources including the iPod family
• Mac Address Book support – for easy dialing
• Enterprise Unified Messaging integration with Exchange

“The Apple market has largely been neglected by IP PBX vendors for some time. Sure there have been some thinly supported open source implementations for the Mac, but by and large, most IP PBX software implementations run on Windows and Linux”, said Paul McCabe, VP of Sales Engineering at pbxnsip, Inc. “What pbxnsip has done is create a purpose built version of its SIP based software for the Apple community. The PBX is easy to install and configure. These are qualities of pbxnsip phone systems which Mac users will appreciate.”

One pbxnsip reseller partner who has tested the OS X version is very excited with the results.

“After working with several open source PBX systems, pbxnsip has proven to be the perfect fit in our deployments for our creative client base“, said Christof Haemmerle of Nex9 LLC based in New York. “We are very excited about the support for the recently announced Mac OS X platform which makes deployments easier and more affordable for our mostly Mac shops.” Mr. Haemmerle continues, "Using ‘Click to Dial’ from the Apple Address Book and the easy to use web interface are some of the unique features which integrate seamlessly into the Mac environment. These features bundled with a very helpful sales and support team makes pbxnsip the first choice for us and our clients.”

The Mac Edition of pbxnsip IP PBX software is available now from http://www.pbxnsip.com

Allworx Call Routing is amazing

Allworx is holding a training locally. So we figured why not send someone (or two).

Pretty interesting to hear the reports back. Very excited because they did not know how powerful the routing was in just playing with the demo unit interface.

Got me thinking, maybe we should be pushing more Allworx. Rumor is they have a fantastic call center application coming out soon and a phone with more buttons. (which was my biggest complaint)

Yellow Pages Expensive

I did the yellow pages a few years ago and nothing great ever came of it. But im going to try it again. I know a couple other dealers who are getting a fair number of calls from them. So Im plunging in with a pretty big ad. Going to cost upward of $900 per month. ouch!

We shall see. Maybe the unlimited LD offering will attract some extra callers. :)

RFI today @ SF city

Today I went to an RFI meeting for a IP PBX. Holy cow! Every telecom company was there, except the Small Business guys. There was 4 Avaya dealers, 5 Shoretel dealers, 2 Cisco dealers, 2 Mitel dealers and 1 Intertel dealers. Granted these are only people i knew. And there were a lot more people there than this!

Makes you wonder. Is the market that hard? You are getting every single possible telecom dealer showing up for an RFP. I dont know, seems a little strange. I was not expecting so many people.

It think if the City is looking for a great SIP or a real open standards solution we will quite attractive. If they are looking to buy a brand we will probably loose the bid.

PBXNSIP Operator Console

PBXNSIP is pleased to announce we have created a pbxnsip attendant console (PAC) application that is used to monitor the extensions and trunks of a pbxnsip system. The first version will show the extensions on one side of the window and the trunks on the other. The colors will change when there is a new call, and caller ID and length of time on the call will also be displayed. The console will use our button technology to update the fields.

We are excited to see the new BETA of an Operator Console for PBXNSIP. Its one of the only things we felt made the product a little less appealing than other softswitches. But no more!

We are beginning to test it now.
